Does passing the scanner guarantee ADA compliance?
No. Automated tools detect only part of the accessibility picture and cannot provide a legal guarantee. Manual testing, process, content review, and qualified guidance may still be required.
Should accessibility overlays replace code fixes?
An overlay should not be treated as a substitute for correcting underlying content, structure, keyboard, labeling, and interaction issues.
How often should the site be checked?
Check after material design, content, form, plugin, or template changes and on a recurring schedule appropriate to publishing volume and risk.
Five checks to perform after the automated scan
Use only a keyboard to reach navigation, forms, dialogs, and the primary CTA. Confirm that focus is visible and follows a sensible order. Zoom to 200 percent and inspect reflow. Review form labels, instructions, and errors. Check meaningful images for useful alternative text. Then test the most important booking path with assistive technology or a qualified reviewer; automation alone cannot verify the full experience.
Assign an owner and retest date
Every critical issue needs a named owner, a remediation method, and a verification step. Record the date and affected component so the same barrier is not reintroduced during the next design or plugin change.
